Digestive Problems

No one is immune from the occasional stomach ache. However, prolonged or irregular issues with your gut and stomach are common and debilitating.

You may be experiencing symptoms such as; constipation, diarrhoea, bloating, abdominal pain, acid reflux, or new food allergies that conventional treatments only partially treat and only in the short term.

Your digestion is important for the absorption of nutrients, elimination of waste and a vital component of your immune system. When things go wrong with your digestive tract it can cause widespread symptoms throughout your body like fatigue, aches and pains, skin problems, mood problems and increase your risk of autoimmune conditions and cancer.

Some digestive issues may require referral for conventional investigations such as a colonoscopy and our doctors will assess you regarding this. We can however significantly help in the treatment of conditions including;  irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), reflux (GORD), leaky gut syndrome, a microbiome imbalance, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), crohn’s disease and more.

Our doctors are expertly trained to perform a comprehensive investigation of your gut through nutritional and laboratory assessments.

We will then employ the 4R’s of gut healing;

Remove– foods or pathogens that are causing inflammation and leaky gut.

Replace– the nutrients that are required for digestion to take place. You may need support with digestive or pancreatic enzymes. It may be you have to little stomach acid not too much!

Repair– the damage that has been done. It may be that other inflammatory factors are affecting your gut even if you have a great diet.

Reinoculate– the good bacteria! Once you have identified the triggers, eliminated any infections and addressed the inflammation then it’s time to improve the health of the gut bacteria.

A good place to start is with the 4 R’s but if you are not getting improvement in your symptoms then a SIBO breath test or a Comprehensive Stool Analysis test maybe indicated to get to the cause of your problems which will help to determine the best treatment plan for you.
